Troubleshoot styles
Why
is the Style command
unavailable on the Format
menu?
If Style is unavailable
(that is, it appears dimmed), you might have
cascading style sheets (CSS) disabled in the browser
compatibility settings.
To enable or disable specific versions of CSS, do the
following:
- On the Tools menu, click
Page Options, and then
click the Compatibility
tab.
- Do one or more of the following:
- Select or clear the
CSS 1.0
(formatting) check box to enable or disable commands
that use CSS version 1.0, such as adding space before or
after a paragraph.
- Select or clear the
CSS 2.0
(positioning) check box to enable or disable commands
that use CSS version 2.0, such as position boxes or
send-to-front.
Note The
CSS 2.0
(positioning) check box is automatically disabled if you
disable CSS 1.0
(formatting).
