About cascading style sheet compatibility
Microsoft FrontPage enables you to design your web site for
compatibility with an array of different browsers and
technologies, among which are
cascading style sheet (CSS) features.
If you design a web site for compatibility with a Web
browser that doesn't support CSS, the commands that use CSS
will be unavailable on menus (that is, they will appear
dimmed) when authoring web pages. This is to prevent you from
accidentally using features that won't be compatible with the
Web browsers used by your desired audience.
Style
features enabled by CSS
FrontPage uses CSS to implement the following style
features:
- Font command (Format
menu): Some font effects on the
Font tab, and expanding or condensed spacing on the
Character Spacing
tab
- Paragraph command (Format
menu): Indentation and
Spacing options
- Borders and
Shading command (Format
menu): All border and shading options
- Position command (Format
menu): All positioning options
