The footer content

In this tutorial, we’ll demonstrate how to update the different regions in the footer of your pages.

The footer Library page includes all the footer content. When you view this ( Library / shared / footer ) page in your editor, you’ll see the un-styled content. For simplicity we’ve kept the styles out of the Library page which allows you to edit the content of the footer a bit more like a ‘blog’ editor, or Word program.

Each section of your footer begins with some heading text, usually wrapped in an <h3> tag.

By first previewing a web page, then opening the ( footer ) for editing, you’ll be able to see what your content looks like in the web page, and make your edits from there.

The footer contains elements from all the previous shared Library component tutorials. Icons, headings, linked text, bullet lists. You’ve already learned how to edit these items from previous tutorials so we won’t repeat the information. The only exception in the footer, is we’ve also included an ‘email’ link.

Change the email link

  1. Expand the [ + ] Library (folder)  >> shared (folder).
  2. Open the ‘footer’ page by double clicking on the Library page
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, or find the email link on the page
  4. Right click on the ( [email protected] ) email link
  5. Select Hyperlink Properties
  6. the Hyperlink properties should display the ( Mailto:) field by default, just change this to your own email address
  7. Keep in mind, when using an email link in a web page, you may find web spam to be a problem. You may find it better to just link the ‘email’ directly to your contact page instead, and use the ‘contact’ form.
